+1 These calipers rebuild very well. OP, There are many people who do not like to see me post here any more, so if I draw hate mail to your thread, I apologize. |

These calipers do rebuild well but you need to catch them before they are too far gone - corrosion on the inner surfaces of the piston bore and on the polished surface of the piston could (and I repeat COULD) mean that they will not seal properly. I've recently had to replace a caliper after rebuilding the original as it sucked air into the system but did not leak fluid out. I guess it is a bit of a black art estimating when the corrosion is too much - well experience I don't have yet! And Larry lots of people still love you here - not many members have their own appreciation thread.

I think the reason we have had different experiences with these calipers is the difference in road conditions. Here in Texas, it is VERY unusual for them to use salt on the roadways. Rust is not an issue with much of anything in this area. In the Netherlands, I bet the rust from snow thawing chemicals makes for less rebuildable calipers. Just a hunch. |

When I lived in Germany 40 years ago, it was common in the Winter time to have to pass the salt broadcasting truck while driving on the autobahn. It made me cringe to hear that stuff bouncing off my car.
