Hows the 300D going ? Still purring like a kitten? Has it needed its first oil change yet?

It doesn't have the requisite 500 miles on it before I need to change the oil... I need to get some odds and ends in it done. For example, it has a crappy radio in it, the dashboard clock does not work, and I just broke the rubber mounts under the air filter housing...

I have fresh GP in all my cars. I would certainly add to that list, fresh battery, fresh fuel filters, good clean dry fuel, fresh oil, full tank (remove air pocket to prevent condensation). Valve adjustment on the OM617 and older is good suggestion too.

Another one that will come up is "how do I plug it in?"

Hard starting could also be valves or timing, but most likely an easy fix with 5 new Bosch Glow Plugs. I bought an '83 CD with only 149K this summer and it would not start until I replaced the GPs. Just curious, what airport? I also use an '83SD for a commuter car in SDF and TYS.

Yeah, we need seasonal stickies. Glow plugs in the fall, AC troubleshooting in May or June.
