I did. Any of the 617 powered ones are the same.

Personally, if you aren't shooting for power, just run a 240D fw. GD FW + clutch = $1200 or so.

I know that's a lot of questions but I am working on something that depends very much on the 300d or 240d m/t flywheel

I am dropping an om617 into my land rover. I prefer to keep all MB stuff up to the trans due to balancing. If the 240D is the same diameter I may go with that one if the crank bolts are the same.

The main thing is I have to make an adapter plate to account for the depth match of input shaft and mating the bellhousing of R380 trans and nut f^&* up the harmonics as the om617 is balanced mainly the flywheel.

no thanks on a broken crank shaft

The 240FW and the 300FW have the same # of teeth.

The Adaptor plate whether auto or manual trans is the same plate.

The 240FW and 300FW will bolt on either engine. IE 616 or 617, the crank bolt pattern is the same.

I`ll throw this in here too. If swapping a 4-spd trans onto a 84 or 85 617 engine that has the tach pick up off the Fly Wheel. The Tach will still work. the auto FW doesn`t have any thing special for a pickup, IE magnet etc... it will still work with the manual FW. you must still use the 84 or 85 Adaptor plate.

The 300FW will make it run smoother than a 240FW. sometime you have to use what is available at the time. Iam using a 240 now but sourced a 300FW at PNP for $27.

panZZer, PM me or get me at jcooper93@tampabay.rr.com

I'll take it if the friction surface is not too scarred and if it is not this one:

Is there anyone that does heavy duty clutch rebuilds? I am going to be running this thing in my disco that is only 700lbs more than the w123 but I have to drive two prop shafts through xfer case
