Wagon Questions

I have a question about some plastic covers, underneath the seats in the back, it's under the places where your butt would be, the covers go over the bolts that hold the seats down. any way to get em off without breaking them?

Ah, those plastic hinge covers. Tricky but remarkably simple once you know. Yes I forgot, I'll take a look next time I go out. Had to break one at the JY to figure it out to begin with.

to get the seats I had to break them, something being out in triple digit heat wave..

Bung this back to the top, Any new ideas?

I just did it this evening to get to the vacuum pump for the door locks under the carpet, under the seat. I wasn't sure why they were not working (it was missing!!). Anyway, with the seat folder forward (vertical) lift up on the red lever on the bottom of the seat, it will release the seat from the two pins (slides up). Once the seat is off , the front side of the plastic pops forward and the plasticl cover comes off the pin. Hope that helps!

Is this for the hinge side?

yes - the plastic covers on the hinge side. I guess that is the side that would unbolt, right? Maybe I didn't understand.

How about a picture. I don't understand what you are trying to accomplish.

I'm trying to remove the lower parts of the rear seats to fit new replacements in there. Im updating the interior of my car.

Pull on the black handle to release the seat. Once it is vertical you pull up on the red handle and they come right out. You haven't ever flipped the rear seat bottoms up and the backs down to make more room for hauling things?

Aquaticedge 10-27-2010 12:59 AM

yes, but I've never tried to unbolt the seats without breaking the plastic covers that are over the bolts

You don't need to un-bolt the rear (center) seat cushions, as mentioned there is a release, they then slide up and off of the two pins and leave the hinge behind.
