You might own a diesel if you know exactly which parking spot you parked in at work.

You might own a diesel if shifting to S means "smoke" and shifting to L means "lots of smoke" to you.

It was a 450SEL 6.9, the smoke was real

Netboy,

"PULL-A-PART quick call list .." Call?! Who do you talk to? The stone faced Latin guy is a tad laconic and the Deliverance guy scares me.

This actually happens? The Pull-A-Part calls you? I thought that only happened in heaven.

When they know you well enough, they pay extra to get you a diesel Mercedes, call you, let you in the processing yard with your truck and tools before the car hits the yard, ... heaven is a good place.

However, heaven doesn't provide enough storage from what I've found.

yuup. they will call you if you ask for specific cars, when they come in.
also if you are a regular, visitor, and make small talk with the employees, they will alert you when someone calls in to sell a car you are looking for.

If your high school automotive students ask you why your car makes that horrible knocking sound.

you look at everything that's a liquid in a "I wonder if it is a usable fuel for my car" way.

Is the implication in this statement correct?

Not every fuel station carries diesel???

I was running on fumes one day out of town, in a small city. NONE of the stations I drove by had diesel... I finally stopped in one, and parked the car, and the girl I was with was like "what are you going to do? I don't wanna be stranded here!..."
I went in, bought a gallon of atf, and a bottle of fuel conditioner, poured it in the tank, and drove on! finally back on the interstate, found a truck stop and filled her up... the girl was just sooo amazed the car ran on oil...

The funny thing about this is, I read this yesterday, took off to go to town, was low on fuel, and frantically searched fuel stations for diesel. When I found one, there were huge oil puddles on each side of the diesel fuel pumps, where other vehicles had been parked. Mine, of course is not presently leaking.

John,
You should have just gone to the local supermarket & got a jug of the cheapest cooking oil (corn?) they had. The girl with you would have been even more impressed & it would have been cheaper.
I have done it a couple of times when the fuel stop was shut & I didnt think I would get home.
