- you have to force yourself to drive your gasser every once in a while.
- you have have no interest in a car if it runs on gas
- you have a 2 year old car with a/c and everything and it just sits there
- youve watched every mercedes cold start video on youtube
- you leave the engine running to get fuel
- you are seen circling the gas station 3 times looking for the diesel pump

You might own a Mercedes diesel if your backup car is also a Mercedes diesel and your backup car to your backup car is a third Mercedes diesel.

Just don't say 'redneck states,' like its a bad thing.

Somebody brags about a new car and...

you say "Yep, it a nice one. You know I was drinking beer from the can your new car was made of last year. Matter of fact, I was drinking beer from the cans your cars were made from for the last 25 years. Actually, I'v been driving the same MB diesel to the store to buy all beer."

Guilty of all of the above

When you keep tow rope and jumper cables in your car in the event that you have to help someone else out.

You've learned NOT to buy cheap jumper cables.

When:

You love the smell of diesel in the morning, and in the afternoon, and...
You hear clattering and your head turns.
You don't mind a little... ok alot... of grease on your hands.
You see different distillates and realize your car will burn them all.
You look back THREE times at your car when you are walking into the restaurant.
You carry enough tools in the back of your car to overhaul the engine.
You carry enough spare parts to fix most issues too.
You realize that your car will still run after it's been hit with an EMP burst.
You have plans to refurbish all the zebrano on the dash and console - someday.
You get sick of people constantly trying to pass you and you decide to pass them instead.
You can't help bit straiten that silver star on your hood.

You start chuckling when a friend says they're worried about buying a used car that has 'over 100,000 miles on it'- then you tell them your current mileage...

When you start out with a gravel driveway and after 10 years of driving your 220D/240D or 300D you now have an asphalt driveway.

Don't worry, we'll just chalk it up to him being that special kind of yankee that won't go home. They even call the war of Northern Aggression by the wrong name.

LMAO....my 1991 300SE is only my second gas MB. I am so used to diesel. It is rare that I get into this car and just turn it to start. I typically get in, turn to 'on' thinking I am warming GP's while I put my seat belt on, and then turn to start.

another one I thought of.....

You might own a diesel if you hate spark plugs, setting points, setting timing, electronic ignition, changing spark plug wires, changing coil packs, etc.
