I'm not exactly sure what I need, to fix the driver side mirror on my '91 350SD.
An 80 year old woman driving a VW Jetta came over the double yellow line and nearly sideswiped me this weekend on a narrow 2 lane road. The mirror glass is broken and on the road somewhere. What remains is a ball that the mirror swivels on and the mechanical adjustment arm. I got the exploded view from the dealer but I'm not sure if all I need is the mirror glass. Is there some sort of holder that the goes between the glass and the ball? How do I remove the mirror assembly if necessary?

I had to replace the whole thing, but that's on a Gen 1 and the passenger side.
