He shoots, he scores!

I just scored two 55 gal drums, not full but I figure around 80 gallons between them, of diesel. I was instructed to pump out of a truck that had contaminated its fuel with engine coolant. They did not want to chance it, but there was very little coolant in it. Since the coolant will settle to the bottom, I just won't pump the drums dry.

It doesn't matter if you know what you're doing, as long as you look like you know what you're doing.

lucky you!!
I once scored 2 x 55gal drums of new diesel engine oil because the seals were broken & the distributor was not permitted to sell them.
They were supposed to be used to paint on a timber fence to preserve it. Well maybe the oil was used for that after it had spent some time in the sump!!

I would be inclined to try & get the water out sooner rather than later. The last of the fuel/water can be put in large soft drink bottles & turned up side down. When the water settles, you loosen the lid & let the water out. The last of the fuel will probably be much dryer than your WVO.

Good Luck !!

When I drained the tanks I removed the drain on the bottom of the tanks and let the coolant out first. It had already sat for a day! There was about a cup of coolant in each tank. Today I scored another deal, picked up a 4 year old oil furnace and tank for the garage, I will run that on diesel and fryer oil.

Save the diesel for your car. Dump the fryer oil in the furnace. You may need to use a little diesel to get the furnace going & to get the WVO out before you shut it down so it doesnt go solid in the burner control. You have the right idea by the looks of it!!
