300D advice needed
Hello all,
Potential new owner of a '93 300D 2.5 TurboDiesel here, 193k and looks like its an excellent shape. However looks are not everything. I'm an above average mechanic and typically take care of all the mechanical needs that my vehicles require. I've no prior experience with MB's so do not know what areas on this model in particular require attention/inspection. Service history may be available, not sure yet. Obviously brakes/suspension/general engine condition should be looked over. What on this car is problematic or prone to failure? If I buy it it will be a daily driver for my wife, replacing an '02 Odyssey. Thanks in advance for any comments and feedback. |

The only Thing that comes to mind are things in your Fuel System that are sealed with O-rings; 2 are the Fuel Injection Pump and if you have one the Fuel Heater. Leaks on the pressure side and Air sucking on the suction side.
You might look up the type of repairs that folks are doing on your year, model and Engine. DIY Repair Links http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/diy-links-parts-category/ http://www.peachparts.com/Wikka/DoItYourSelf
