Exclamation Parts help

I'm dropping the oil pan this coming week to replace the turbo oil drain grommet, o-rings, clean the inside of the oil pan, fix a dent in the oil pan and paint it.

While I am in there I would like to replace the "Oil Accumulator Return Check Valve". This is the little "Check Valve" that is right next to the "Turbo Oil Drain" and is secured with a small collar.

It shows that the part is "Discontinued and No Longer Available" in the Buy Parts area at the top of the page. Is this something the dealer would have or am I just out of luck?

That check valve is not terribly prone to failure. Most probably, a good cleaning will cause it to work like new.

Snookwhaler, take pics if you can. TF, do you have a drawing of what the check valve looks like? I'd like to be able to test it in situ. Is that possible?

The check valve is similar to the valves in your vacuum Pump (a disc valve).
It should be simple to clean without removing it. Before you remove the Oil Pan Pour something down into the Blowby drain tube; even Diesel Fuel or WD40 will work.

You need 2 O-rings and the Grommet to do the Turbo Drain job.
It is a good idea to change the O-ring on the Blowby Drain Tube that is right next to the Turbo Drain Grommet. Better to do it when the Turbo Drain is out so there is more room.

Is the disc valve at the bottom of the drain tube (the fat one)? It lets fluid to drain into the oil pan but keeps air from coming out of the oil pan?

The check valve is for the air/oil separator drain, not the turbo drain.

So it's at the bottom of the skinny tube (next to the fat tube)? Can you post a link to a exploded view of the parts diagram? I've seen it before but can't find it easily. Thanks!

HMMM check valve NLA, well there are a lot of them at PNP in these old W123 & W126 diesel vacuum pumps.
Just a thought.

I haven`t removed one. aren`t they in the inlet where the large black tube screws onto the pump? unscrew the connection, and it can be lifted out?

Wrong check valve.

Thanks for the posts guys!

I got most of my info. from the DIY section at the top of the page and there are several threads on the topic. Lots of pics on the turbo drain and the check valve and how to replace both. I have had the parts for the "Turbo Drain" for weeks. BUT, as I am now understanding, it can be a serious PITA to get the grommet and tube out without removing the oil pan.

So, I want to order a oil pan gasket and I figure I might as well deal with this check valve and have a look around while the oil pan is off.

After talking with several "Veteran Members" (via PM's) it appears that this particular check valve is the same as the ones in the front of the vacuum pump.
