Hex bit socket sizes for w123 with OM617
What are the common hex bit sizes needed for maintenance? From my search, they are 19mm for block drain, 14mm for differential drain, 5mm for transmission filter job, may be 10mm for motor mount (can't remember now). What other sizes will I need? Any ideas where to get a set with all these sizes?

I've bought nearly a full set starting at 5mm going up to 19mm in individual pieces - save yourself the time and trouble and buy a set!
(But then I've done nearly every job there is to do on a OM617 W123 since I bought the car a year ago) I even came across a 7mm hex head on the block that holds the parking brake in place on the trailing arms... Another tip - sometimes when you buy new parts you get torx headed bolts as replacements - this is a pain in the backside as you then need to go and buy the torx equivalent... So my best advice is to buy a really good quality set of hex and torx together in one box.

heh. yup, torx is in some of the replacement bolts, then again, the tripple square bolts in some less obvious places are 8mm tripple square in the wagon strut bolts. (you don't have those in a D...)
if it looks like a pointy tip torx, it's NOT A TORX!@! it's a tripple square. MB likes the tripple square nut... also you need a 46mm allen socket for the fuel tank sender, and the tank screen.

I commonly use these; 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, and 14mm.
I too got a set of allen bit sockets from harbor freight. But it didn't come with a 14mm, so I cut a piece of 14mm allen and put it in a regular socket when I need it.
