w123 rear control arm: interchangable between wagon and sedan?
Hi folks,
Have to change the rear control arm on my '80 wagon. Have an '82 sedan parts car almost ready to go to the boneyard. I know the answer is probably no, but I figured I'd ask.... Thanks in advance |

LOL
Yes they interchange?
Or yes, the answer is a NO? |
They are one in the same, go for it.

yes, yes yes. they are the same part.
as a matter of fact, they are on the unobtainum parts list for the 123 vehicles. so pull both from your parts car before you crush it! I'm storing a few sets in my garage loft before I crush the frames of all my parts cars. (thanks for the tip ROY) |
wow
Man am I ever glad I asked.
My luck with interchange over the years has been soooo bad, I almost didn't bother with the post. Sheesh. A million thanks and yeah, I'm gonna get both pulled for sure :D Steve |
I believe the first generation W126, 81 to 85 will work also.
I think the price for a new one was $1200.00. Charlie |
yes, the 1st gen 126 will also work. and the new price, NLA, 3500.00!!!
|
They can apparently still be had....
In Canada new for approx. $1100. That was a quote from an independent parts dealer. They also list one at $400 used.
Which is why I asked in the first place (major drop-receiver-fall-off-chair syndrome) I am really appreciating the help on this forum. Mac |

So the !@# and first 126---I would Never mess with a rear wheel bearing job!

I pulled a set off an 85 300CD this summer for an R&R on my 85 300D. think the price with the hub was $42.00 each.

The going rate here in Europe is about 70 euros for a second hand one
