coupe bumpers on a wagon

Do they fit in a w123? I think not, but perhaps someone here knows as they have tried.

Front is not a problem, but rear will be. No mounting for the reverse light. If you're putting the Euro coupe bumpers on a US car you'll have to use the other mounting holes on the rear fenders (US bumpers use two holes on the rear fender, Euros only use one - there are three holes in all - one is plugged when US bumpers are used. Two will have to be plugged if the Euro bumpers will be used.

Make sure your bumpers have ALL mounting brackets and fasteners too.

I happen to have a wagon bumper on my coupe. The lights are not complete though. I would trade it for a good coupe sedan straight up. The rest of the bumper is in good condition.

I have a usa bumpers- and may get a set of euros. If it is only the reverse lights that are the issue then I may remote locate those. Is the reverse lights the only issue really?

Unless you're changing to Euro-bumpers, the reverse lights should be the only issue.
As a PO already installed a US front bumper on my '84 Euro TD, and I couldn't find any W123 wagon bumpers at the time, I replaced my damaged rear bumper with a US W123 sedan bumper. I believe the US W123 coupes & sedans have the same bumpers. I relocated my reverse lights under the bumper. They are more vulnerable to damage there so a year later, I wound up smashing one on a high curb.
Then I relocated the remaining one to the center.
I've since picked up a decent set of Euro W123 wagon bumpers to eventally put mine back to original.

Happy Motoring, Mark
