300e manual, can anyone show my what the shifter boot ataches to?
Clearly I am missing something.

It's as Billy Bob describes. I have an '88 300E five speed and when I replaced the boot I just peeled it off and then removed the knob to slip it the rest of the way off.
BTW, just so you know, the boot is the exact same part as is used on the 123 manual transmission cars.

I've got three 123 boot surrounds... I can take a pic for ya if you need it?

Interesting, I am going to track down a 123 shifter console and see if the opening is the same size.

Yes the opeining in the shift console is the same from 123 to 124.

The 123 and 124 openings are not the same. Also the 124 auto console does not have the routed edge and the 123 mount will not work in there. Anyone have a 201/124 manual shifter center console (preferable horrible condition wood)?
