87 190D turbo tranny question
i bought a nice 190d turbo with a bad tranny.i have a 190d 5cyl no turbo wreck with a good tranny.i also have an 87 300d rot box with a good tranny.is either a good replacement or should i have original rebuilt?both 190 no turbo and 300d have around 120000 miles.

anyone???

I would think the 190ds trannys you can swap.
|
I have a 617 N/A with a trans from a turbo 617, no problems. Go for the 190 N/A trans. You could then do up your turbo trans as a spare.

I would pull the 87 tranny and put it in.

IIRC the 190s both have the lighter-duty 722.4xx box where the '87 300D has the higher-power rated 722.3xx box. They are the same case, will fit the mounts, not sure the tail-shaft/yoke of the 300D will though, might be larger.
