[QUOTE=micalk;2589317]Did you try wiggling the wire pass thru in the door jamb as MTUpower suggested? QUOTE]

Yeah I did the wiggle thing early on, after I had swapped switches with the other door to isolate the problem from the switch. Didn't work, doesn't mean that it never will, but for now the problem is solved until the Spring. I'm a single dude with no kids, so rear windows aren't a big deal 99.9% of the time. I use the sunroof or front windows in the event of noxious fumes emanating from the drivers compartment.

I also already cleaned the console switches, and after swapping the rear switch with one that worked in both directions, I knew the issue was wiring or the motor itself. I like the splice suggestion with one hot wire to both + and - on the motor, but would need to be sure it was safe.

It would be as safe as you make it. There's no problem with current overload, it's basically the same current to go up as it is to go down. If you have some spare connectors and some soldering skills you could make a "mercedes quality" splice that mates to both connectors - no worries. Or you could use black tape and wire ties - not as safe, but I've seen worse. As long as you don't connect 12V to ground you should be fine.
