I LOVE my 603....just did the G-plugs and removed the ALDA and now I LOVE it a little more.
Am considering throwing one in the 75 SL

My Euro NA 603 has been great, now with 257K miles. I bought it on a whim with 238K miles as a "winter" car and quickly discovered why people hold into these for so long. The 603 has been dead reliable, burns zero oil, averages 30+ MPG, and will start in single digit farenheit (although I try to use the engine block heater when possible). Even without the turbo, mine is still a very quiet diesel and almost sounds like a gasser at part throttle.

My 603 has lasted me longer than any of my other cars thus far, but that isn't saying much as I have had 4 cars in 3 years.

The only problem is psychological. Tank is big enough for me to take it about 550 miles before putting 22 gallons in it, or about $70! I forget that I only fill it every 2 weeks and I get better mpg than any of my other cars, even though this has been the biggest of the bunch.

Now just to change that timing chain...
