Site Question

Did this site used to be mercedesshop.com a few years back? If so, I'm happy to have found it again, if not, it's a pretty great site for an old diesel head anyway.

That's great! Used it a lot in the past. I always liked the parts prices and availability too. Going to look at a second diesel over the weekend for my kid to drive, a 240 automatic, should be slow enough to keep him out of trouble :-)

You can still google mercedesshop.com and get to it easily.

Welcome back! The personality of the site has taken a RADICAL change since 2002. This is not due to the administration of the site, but due to the change in membership.

Yup, it's still MercedesShop to me.

Mercedes got a little snippy about somebody using their name.

Apparently, so much so that the older, grumpier members have banded together in a "grumpy old mercedes owners" club. They get this way by having to read the same "why isn't my AC blowing cold" questions in the late spring and the "why is my car running like crap" questions in the late fall. I suspect a resistance group of younger know-it-alls will band together in retaliation. For my part, I hope to lead a group of 30-something guerilla fighters who try to pit the old grumpies and the young know-it-alls against each other.

It truly is a great forum.

So will this fight be in the Octagon or does it involve firearms?

As leader of a guerrilla fighters, I can only condone firearms.

However . . . .

This does remind me of my high school days. Rather than fight in the school building and feel the wrath of the school administrators, we opted to construct a boxing ring at a campsite of one of our schoolmates. If two people had beef with one another, we would schedule a boxing match for that weekend. Of course, lots of other high school tom foolery went on at those events, but it was a good way to settle confrontations. Mostly, once two guys had the gloves on, they would just wear one another down. It was pretty popular for a while, even people with no real issues would do it just for fun. Just throwing that out there as an idea for future meet and greets.

Here's a wise-ass response to your question--have you posted 807 times to another diesel forum?

I caught that too. Certainly a head scratcher. Of course, I regularly loose the same screwdriver ten times in an hour, so I just keep my mouth shut about these kinds of things.

The 800 +counter was from when this was mercedesshop.com, back a few years ago when I had two of the old 123's. Just bought another after a few years of Volvo (my bad).
