Help with engine temp sensor wiring
I'm brand new here, and really am sorry to bother you all with such a trivial matter, but I really do need your help. I also feel like a dope over this.
I've got a 1987 Mercedes 300 tdt wagon. Lately, I put in all new glow plugs. While doing so, I needed to take out the glow plug wiring harness to do a little taping around the wires. Well, I've got one plug that for the life of me I can't find its mate. It is the male wire plug end coming from the temp sensor that is just below the glow plugs. The plug end shares the wiring sheath with the glow plug wires, and exits right before the glow plug relay box. I've looked and looked but just can't find the female receptacle. This temp sensor is the one that shows engine temperature on the cabin engine temp gauge. Thank you in advance for your help. Chris |

I can't see that plug/socket in my '87 but it looks like it ought to be under or behind the blue flying saucer on the left (driver's side) inner fender. (My car was abused as a child and its wiring is no longer original.)

Jeremy, thank you for your response. After reading your posting I went out to take a look. I found the blue flying saucer thingy, but no receptacle for my plug. It is truly a paradox. And am quite annoyed with myself, to say the least.
Are you buying or making your biodiesel? And, what percentage are you burning? I was making biodiesel for this W124 for about four years until I lost my space for making it in. Chris |
