Hello All,
I could use some help with a problem I am having with my baby's transmission.
I have a 1982 300d turbo, She currently has 188k mi. and runs great.
I had the transmission serviced, filter, fluid, and new modulator not to long ago.
All of a sudden, it is slipping in first gear, catches, then shifts fine thru the rest of the gears. Any suggestions?
Also, does anyone know of a reputable transmission shop in the Pa area? Do you think a used trans is a bad idea?

Sounds like things went south after the trans service, this does happen with transmissions that are not serviced regularly. These trannies complain alot before they completely give out on you.. get under the car and turn up the pressure on the vacuum modulator. Give that a try and see if its still slipping.
