Isn't a 240D faster than a 1963 190D?

Haha. There was a 600,000 miles 1959 180D on ebay.. I dont see how someone could drive that thing for 600,000 miles! We shouldnt feel so bad, in europe they get the privilage of driving 123 200D's and 220D's that go 0-60 in the order of 30 seconds. Imagine those with low compression! 40 seconds.

Can cars like the 240D be driven on the autoban?

I remember seeing Fiat Pandas and Citroen 2VCs on the autobahn, so for sure a 200D can be driven there. Should be a highly stimulating experience, sandwiched between two East German trailer trucks in Bavaria!

If you install a speedometer that's marked in kilometers and don't learn to convert to mph
the old 240 will seem pretty quick........
