antifreeze leak, heater pump?
2 Attachment(s)
I seem to have a something leaking antifreeze on the divers side of the engine bay. It looks to be a pump of sorts and is attached to the inner fender. I have no idea what the part would be called hence the thread cause I would not know how to sure for it in the first place.
I have attached 2 pictures. It looks like it might be rebuildable? if not, any link as to the replacement part? |
It's called the auxiliary pump. Without it you will get only lukewarm air from the heater during idling.

Thanks guys, I'll bypass it for now and order the part.

If you plan on jerry rigging it to do away with the leak, MAKE SURE YOU DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR!!!!!!!
Once the pump gets worn out it often starts drawing too much current which can and often does ruin the CCU. Your best bet would be to replace the pump. |

bypassed the hose today, and unplugged the pump... heat works great without it. Actually way to hot.. can only stand it about the middle of the white section on the thermostat.
Found leak number 2... Wife was idling car and I started to see some antifreeze coming out the passenger side... Turns out to be a bad expansion tank cap, so I replaced it. Right now I'm not sure if I'll even bother to replace the aux water pump. |
