It should be easy enough to check for fuel flow. Loosen one of the injector lines and crank it over to see if you get any out. It should at least crank unless the filters are totally plugged. Try cycling the gp's a couple/few times before you try to start it. Anything change in regards to where you have been purchasing fuel? Has anyone else filled it up lately? Anything different?

Can we assume that the car is filled with regular diesel & was no out in sub zero temps over night.
Location?
Any useful history.
Do you have bubbles in the fuel lines?
Is it parked facing up hill?

Its glow plugs,Ive replaced glow plugs on 3 different 190d models in the past 2 months. They looked like original GPs when pulled .You can do it yourself if your any kind of wrench wrangler. It requires you to take off the intake and reless the fuel lines on top so its alittle more complicated then the 300d of 85 and under .1ST check the fuse for the glow plug relay to make sure its not blown ,sits on the driver fender in a little black box.Tools -10mm socket,6 mm hex ,screwdriver, and some extensions.the header bolts youll need to pay close attention too when getting them to break ,WD them a day before, then insert the 6mm hex with extension and give it acouple of wacks to jar the bolt .Last GPs I did i stripped the last header bolt and had to do the chisel and hammer routine while the customer looked on .It will require you 3 hrs and take your time covering up your intake holes when you get to pulling the intake piece off.You can test them when you get access at them, take 2 pieces of 3 ft speaker wire or what ever you got ,no heavy wire.install gator clips to each side.clip one side to the neg side of the battery ,the positive the same .Your going to latch the neg wire to the body of the glow plug then just touch the positive to the tip of the GP.If you see little sparks this means the GP is still functioning, then on to the rest.I personally would replace them all ,they will last 3 yrs plus if they are the Bosch brand.Good luck
ALSO ,WHEN YOU TAKE OFF THE AIR BREATHER TUBE AND ITS LINES OFF THE TOP OF THE VALVE COVER ,YOU WILL LIKELY HAVE TO REPLACE SOME PIECES ,OLD AGE GETS TO THESE PIECES AND THEY GET BRITTLE.

Are you getting unburned fuel (white smoke) out the exhaust? If you are it's probably glow plugs. If not, you have a fuel delivery problem. Any air bubbles in the clear plastic fuel lines on the IP? As has been stated earlier, try cracking your injector lines to get air out of the system. If you're stuck somewhere without tools, follow the owner's manual's recommendation for priming. You'll have to crank for a really long time to get the air out...make sure your battery is good. Keep your foot to the floor and don't stop cranking until all cylinders are firing or you have to stop to let the starter cool.

A few weeks ago some air got into my lines and I had to do this to get it to start. I think it was the gasket on the fuel heater because it's been seeping a little and it hasn't done it again after I wiggled it around.
