'87 only SRS Voltage Converter W24 Location??
Shows this voltage converter in the FSM electrical diagram (page 158). Where is this located? I know of the SRS box under the center console, and I believe a module behind the battery similar in size to the ECU, is there another part involved (can't get the SRS light to turn off but airbag and tensioners are fine).

N24 (SRS Voltage Converter) and C1 (SRS Energy Accumulator) both live behind the passenger right side kick panel.

The SRS light will flash on occasion in my 87'. . .
what should I look at first. . it seems to happen when I hit a bad bump/pot hole (which I try to avoid of course)

Sounds like a bad connection somewhere. If the SRS controller (on the transmission tunnel forward of the ashtray) lost power for more than a healthy fraction of a second, it would go through its start-up cycle and the SRS light would come on for ten seconds (less in later models). With power off, check all of the connections, plugs, grounds, etc. Note that SRS has no fuse (unless it is fused internally). The designers didn't want SRS to fail to work because a fuse had blown. If you want to be really thorough, remove the B-pillar trim and check the connections for the seat-belt retractors. They are designed to explosively tension the seat belts at the same time the airbag is triggered.
It is possible that the slip rings and contacts for the airbag in the steering wheel are worn/dirty and preventing good contact. SRS might (I don't know for sure) check for continuity through the airbag and illuminate the SRS light if it isn't happy. Disconnect battery negative. Remove two Torx screws in the back of the steering wheel and the airbag will come out. Be careful unplugging the connector A very tight 10 mm flathead Allen screw holds the steering wheel on. The steering lock will hold the wheel while you apply muscle to a breaker bar. Use a good quality Allen bit and don't strip it. Mark the wheel and shaft so you can get it back on in the same position. With the steering wheel off you'll be able to inspect and check the carbon wipers and the copper slip rings. When replacing the airbag electrical connector, be sure it audibly snaps back into place. Jeremy
