Educate me- tie rod ends
 

Again for the 190d.

When you look up parts...what do mean right side or left side? right side is driver?

tie rod ends come in right hand and left hand threads?

confusing.

I need all four tie rod ends

It is from the viewpoint of one sitting in the car.

The same for any part that is sold by this description.

right = pass

left = driver

You'll need two left hand thread and two right hand thread. One of each for each side of the car.

Don't know about the 190, but it makes no sense to purchase tie rod ends on the W126. Just purchase the entire tie rod...........the cost is usually less than the two ends purchased separately.

Agreed. That also rules out all the confusion of left- and right-handed threads and such.

Just looked them up for this car. If you buy quality tie rod ends, Lemfoerder or Febi, they will cost just as much as the whole assembly. If you buy the cheapos tie rods, it's cheaper than the whole assembly.

I just bought a pair of the entire assemblies. Didn't have a manufacturer indicated but they were listed as OEM and the box had a Mercedes logo on it. Much less hassle than unclamping and unscrewing the old greasy, dirty units and reassembling. They were only $25 or so each.

Edit: Oops, sorry I just noticed it was for a 190. My comment about pricing might not be relevant.
