Ok i was told i spun a few bearings on the crank(?) Was told I would need to replace the engine.

Ussally Mercedes diesels bearing have abundent oil flow and don't wear.Unless in its history run low on oil,or run on dirty oil.
Injectors can fool the best mechanics into thinking bearings are bad. Also the front crank bolt can cause a loud noise,as the flex plate on flywheel.

I'm in the process of having a reman engine installed in my 300D (about $4500 plus 20 hours of labor). The alternative is a used engine (about $500-1000 plus labor) or a replacement car.
