I bypassed mine and drove it about 60K before the car died. I can't contribute the death to the fuel heater though.

Its just a nicety for cold weather afik. Won't hurt a thing to not have it unless your fuel gelled up because it was so cold. Then it would help if you were heating your fuel.

In cold weather it helps the fuel to pass through the filter. Once the fuel temperature reaches the "cloud point", it will clog the filter and stop your engine.

Hi guys i was wandering if there was a do it yourself with pictures on the fuel thermostat.
I had mine out but i am now having the problem that it is very hard for me to push the white cap in far enough to get the ring back on,i have nifty snap ring plyers and all but i cant seem to be able to insert the cap back on deep enough. Does anyone have any tips on how to do this? I dont think i am missing any parts,i see a spring a small washer atop the spring that sits inside the white cap and the cap. Help would be greatly appreciated |
