87TD rough acceleration
this morning driving to work, from 40 or so, acceleration rough if pressed. light acceleration is ok.
I've not popped the hood yet, don't yet have time. where would you guys start? fuel tank is 1/2 or better, the coolant and oil pressure levels are fine. just no acceleration...

by rough do you mean skipping or nailling as in not running smooth or that you just have no power. I have noticed lately in the cold weather that my boost will stick at say 6psi and the pedal will get mushy and the car feels like it has no power, but with a quick flick of the throttle it snaps the boost up to 10-12Psi and I'm off like a rocket. Much like you I havent had the time to check thing out under the hood. Basically I would start with making sure your wastegate is closing all the way.

rough.
not "a lack of power" it has no power and stumbles when floored as usual... if feels like air in the lines, or an injector issue... possibly the IP DV seals are failing... arrrgh. going to have to pressurize the fuel and look for leaks, then see what's up I guess... this is going to be hard to explain to SO... it's her car.

Air in lines. Pretty sure this is why I get power loss at WOT and speed.

Wonder if tank screen could be clogged. Where do these leak air mainly? Fuel filter o rings? The 87 300DT (not TD or TDT) i got for 500.00 a while back that i'm straightening out and giving to my sister ( I never told you guys about this one ) has an air leak i think.
Or a clogged screen. I was getting on insterstate and floored it and then it acted like it ran out of gas. I fumbled my way to a gas station and put in some fuel. Then made it a little down the road and it quit. Couldn't get it back started. 4 days later came back and changed fuel filter and orings and got it going after a ton of cranking. I mean these things are really a pita to get going if you run out of gas or get air in the lines. Whats up with that , Mercedes? I was going to check tank screen but the fuel in the site filter is clean and green (shell). I still might. Good luck with it.

IIRC its on the left side near the passenger door area, Also check your Fuel Preheater. Mine leaked air and Caused some simular situations.
