Thanks to DABLK1 for stopping bye today with his wonderful little girl lots of Santa tech talk going on. As for the 300D 2.5 we noticed that the fuel shut off lever was not in the upright position. After I drove his 2.5 to compare performance. I notice the lack of boost on mine. I was so worried about the tranny. I forgot to address common issues. I change the primary, and secondary fuel filters will change the in tank filter etc.

if the head's not toast, maybe you can be the one to see if it will fit on a 603?
We will have to pull the pan. The engine locked up on the lady. Her dad purchased new, and passed it on to her. Going against her dad's advice she sold it to me There is one on Fredricksburg, Va C-list for 1,800 bad trans. I will resist any additional purchases for now. Santa Claus is coming to town!!!!

I'm also still a little concerned about the shutofff lever. Why isn't it in the upright position while the car was running. Also, it sounds like the turbo is spooling up but you have absolutely no boost.

"Emergency Shut-Off Lever's lack of Uprightness"

The Vacuum Shutoff was replaced at some previous date INCORRECTLY!

I'D BE TENDING TO THAT MATTER BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE AGAIN!!!
(You know the risk is Runaway???)

Re:
Shut off valve replacement W124 602/3 300D 2.5

AND the No Boost is easily remedied:
Wastegate actuator swap for OM602.962?

Not so unusual. Bad oil pressure sensor. My 87 has one.

Despite all the horrible predictions here I wouldnt worry about it. It could be something as easy as the flap on the crossover tube not working properly. You said it had problems getting into 4th? More description? How about the boost? Did you bypass the firewall? The 91 has a 1 year EPA system, that should tell you a few things. GSXR has a writeup on changing the wastegate to a normal boost operated pod however I would like to see someone diagnose the low boost issue. On mine it seems to occur at 80* ambient temp and above. Ok below that. Alot of blue UFOs in there and there is little information on how they operate. The problem with diagnosing these issues is that you need a dyno to do it properly. I have yet to find a functional description of the entire system. I imagine that 80* is a change over for how the system operates, which makes a bit of sense. Altitude and temperature compensation....

Make sure you look at the oil for coolant.

I agree the wastegate+swap is a must. It is hell to trouble shoot any thing with all the UFOs flying around under the hood. I will also clean the intake nipple that feeds the ALDA when I get home took the C220 to work today. Has anyone cleaned up the wastegate swap instructions recently?

Be sure that air can get from the intake plenum through the switchover valve, to the ALDA. Connect directly and blow through the fittings to test. 4th gear won't engage unless your foot is pretty light on the pedal, or the RPM matches the shift-point at full-rpm (4300rpm?).

Boost? You need a gauge. If there's boost and no power, either fuel delivery or the ALDA is not seeing boost.

The electronics on that car make it a little more of a pain, plenty of good resources here to back-date the boost system (fortunately) so you don't have to "re-invent the wheel".

Be careful of those '95s, they explode without notice, and I know a guy who likes risks who would take it off of your hands, ... just to protect you. I'd have my spare 603 in it by New Year's Eve. How many miles and how's the interior?

Well went out this morning started Ghost yes it now has a name which means I will keep her I thought that I would take a look at the nipple coming off the intake to see if it was gummed up. It was packed with carbon gunk. Cleaned it up with cleaner. As mention above the SOV moves up/down with throttle movement not good. I believe that Chris had the same issues a while back. There is no quick fix to the issues I am having so I will pull her in the garage compile all the necessary items needed to do the SOV/ALDA/Wastegate conversion all at the same time. and rip out all the electronic crap. All filters have been changed
