Radiator options for 87 190dt

Anyone else tried to use one of the other MB rads, the DT one is scarce and expensive ($500 +) . Just wondering if the 190d rad or one out of a 2.6 gasser would be a option. The local rad shops don't even have a listing for a recore , & I am not so sure I want to use 23yr old plastic tanks in any case. Has anyone compared rads side by side? Cheers Dan

I will be attempting a trip to the pnp tomorrow, there are at least 4 201's onsite. I can look them over for ya if there is a diesel model to compare it to.
I can pull one for ya too if you like.
not a promise I am going you understand, but I'll try hard, I need a condenser, and radiator myself...

There was a thread a while ago comparing the 190D Turbo radiator to others, I believe it was back when I had an '87 190D Turbo, ... which would be around 2005 and before.

There were differences IIRC, size and outlet/inlet locations are the usual differences. Mounting might also be different as the 190Dt has the removable upper radiator support (as does the 190E 2.6) and the other diesels do not.

I might be in the market for one myself. The best price i have seen is around $250 for a nissen brand radiator.

Where was that ? PM me

Best price I have seen is $462 here at fastlane ( maybe $600 by the time shipping to Canada and customs duty are added in), most places don't even list it even Allparts. Cheers Dan

Radiator compatibility 190D vs 190E?
I think he used an 190E radiator to fit into a 190D.

Thanks for the info

This is exactly what I need to find a crossover or get a custom rad built. Cheers Dan

A 190e has a different radiator than the 190d models ,you can use a 2.2 diesel radiator for a 2.5 car ,their the same.I have one in good shape ,its like new for $140 .Houston area .Shipping would have to worked out.
