Short, Fun W116 Movie:

Just for fun, I put together a collection of video clips showcasing my 300SD's acceleration from 0 to 60, from 60 to 105 and part-throttle acceleration from 40 to 70 mph.

The goal here is to demonstrate how an internally stock 617.950, with '05' camshaft and no alterations to the injektor pump (other than the ALDA being backed all the way out), can perform with a T-3 turbocharger and stock exhaust.

While there are certainly OM 617's that produce more power than I do, this car delivers remarkable performance in consideration of its basically stock condition, and nets almost 30 MPG on the highway.

I hope all of you enjoy this video tutorial. It was actually quite fun to produce...Robert

Thanks....It isn't the fastest 116 out there, but it's pretty quick and still pulls off 29 mpg consistently. I am afraid to turn up the pupmp and kill my MPG....

0 to 60 Time:

If I am looking at this correctly, the 0 to 60 test starts at 2:52 and ends at 3:04, which would be about 12 seconds or so....

Nice video, love the whitewalls and 2nd gear chrip In 78, coming from an emissionens chocked American V8 must have been a revelation.

How much extra off the line power did the alda adjustment give you? It makes quite a puff on hard launch.

The extra RPM range of your car really helps... It's been so long since I've driven my car i might not be remembering correctly, but I think 3rd gear was out of power at 70 mph.

Is it just me or do your brake lights come on dimly just after you take off?

The Dunlop Citations are awesome tires and I too love the whitewalls.

I didn't notice any off-boost improvement when I backed out the ALDA, but I did notice an on-boost improvement.

This thing never stops pulling until about 5200 rpm or so, although its hard to read the factory tach.

Something is wrong with my car's tune, power started falling off at 3900 rpm and there was nothing more by 4100. At 65 dropping for 4 to 3 didn't result in quicker acceleration

this sounds like fuel issues, I'd recommend starting your own thread and getting some work done on your car!

Very nice. It does look like your brake lights are still on when you take off from a dead stop.
My 116 300SD is definitely quicker than my 85TD with the higher gearing.
