I had no real input on this until today. Parleys Canyon had a chain or 4x4 restriction today ( I really do need to buy chains ). I just kept plugging along at 20-30 up the hill with my all seasons watching three or four front wheel drive cars just spinning their wheels and going sideways. It's times like this I'm grateful for the LSD diff I found last spring. It may be a little slower off the line with the 2.24 gearing, but at least I can get from point A to point B .

A funny thing happens when you're accelerating or going up a hill: the weight starts to transfer to the rear wheels. Of course when you decelerate, the weight transfers to the front wheels, extra bad news if you're already significantly front-heavy.
A balanced RWD is always my choice over FWD.
