brown vacuum line 85 300d

hey out there! iv made a problem in my benz. i replaced the ignition steering lock(the whole lock/switch mechanism) and changed the middle vent vacuum actuator. did them both at the same time. no my vents dont work and it is slow to shut the engine off. i found that it looks like i pulled the brown vacuum line lose from where it goes. not on the ignition switch, from where ever it gose from there. im tring to find out what it plugs back into??? looks like somewhere up in the dash toward the passenger side? well thats where when i was pulling on it it came from. any help would be great!!! thanks!!

Try looking under the resources tab under DIY and see if you can get some picts in there...if you dont find it I can go check on my car...
What exactly does the brown line come from? Is it under the hood or in the cabin?

There are 2 brown lines. one goes to the engine shutoff vac gizmo on the rear of the Injection pump. the other gets it Vacuum source from the large black vac line just before the brake booster.

Both connect to the valve on the ingition/steering lock assy.

Brown line with blue stripe connects to the Gizmo.

Don`t remember which side of the valve on the lock assy it connects to. do not want to switch them.

well i jus had the brown and brown/red backwards. i think i have a different problem with the hvac. i know the control head is good, cuz took it out the other car and all the settings worked. when i got the car over a year ago i messed with the hvac stuff some. found the center vacuum module diaphragm was bad and 2 of the electric solenoids where not working. never fixed it then. now that its cold iv been trying to mess with it so i can have good heat. i replaced the solenoids with 2 other good ones, jus different style(it had round style, i put in the square older style cuz i couldentfind the round in the junk yards). none of the vacuum modules are actuating in any switch position.

monovalve

check out this thread and see if any of this helps

85 300D no more heat for me, help its cold

Do the locks snap closed? Or are they slow? If they are slow, you still have a vac leak somewhere.
Search "Monovalve" and see what you can find

The other thread says to take it out and clean it, also if it is torn it will not work right...the other thread also says to check the electrical connections, maybe just corroded connections?

I am sure more will chime in soon...
