Since you guys want to meet soon, what do you think about Saturday, January 19th, High Noon.. I say SNOW OR SHINE. Same location.. any objections?

Maybe we can get a few more people and maybe rickjordan won't be on some boat in the middle of the ocean and can come this time

John

BOAT, BOAT, I don't work on no stinkin' boat. LOL. I work on big jets not big boats. Well I think I could do that Saturday. Good timing though because I am due to leave soon.

Just to be clear. Where is this destination? I can't quite make out the place from the directions without a map. Thanks,

Diesel meet

I'll be there. Me and my 83 300td which for some reason I can't sell. I put it up for sale and then change my mind an hour later.
I think once I fix the darn rack bolt and smooth out the idle and replace the monovalve(heat goes cold over 50mph) I'll be much happier. I love this car and just want to make it right. How about a mini work shop to replace the rack bolt? I'll bring anything that is needed. Just give me a clue to what I need. I'll order the bolt today along with any tools and warm drinks.

thanks,
Andrew

Hey, Andrew, bring that new rack pin. It's the only thing I know how to do on the bloody car and this way I can look like a hero for at least a few minutes.

I never thought I would ever be in the position to say ....which Mercedes do I bring. If there is going to be another impromptu race, then I would bring the SD. On the other hand my TD is in overall better condition for show.

That's easy Rick...

Get a sitter and have the Missus drive one while you drive the othern. No tough choice there.

Thumbs up Diesel meet

Well, I ordered the rack bolt, monovalve for the heating system, and two washer sprayers. They should be here by Thursday. I'll gather up my tools and hopefully I can get this all done. We can use my car to do service demos I also will need to replace my tach, oil pressure, and temperature guages. Along with the dash dimmer. I've never pulled the dash out but they tell me it is fairly easy. Wanna give this a shot as well?

I can keep you guys going all day. I love this car and want to keep it as close to 100% as I can which means continuously replacing worn items.

Also in the spring I will be replacing all the door seals and rebuilding the drivers seat with a new spring and cushion. I am the second owner of this car and truly love it. The original owner was a little old lady who lived down the street from me and after owning the car for fifteen years decided that she needed something easier to get in and out of. I have all the maintenance records from day one. Gotta love the anal retentive record keepers...oops, thats me!

I will also need to have two very small rust areas removed and repainted.

All this is still a heck of a lot less than car payments!!!!

Are we having fun yet?:p

see ya,
Andrew
