No adjustment pin on my transmission modulator

I went to adjust the modulator on my transmission to make the shift between 2 and 3 a little harder. There was no cap and no pin to adjust. Are there two different types of modulators, or is this one broken?
I can pump vacuum up to 19 hg's on the modulator and then it slowly loses vacuum at about 5 hg's per second. Should I go ahead and buy one while they're still in production? Thanks

Yes

The modulator should hold vacuum and the pin is missing. It must shift really clunky.

No real danger is the part being unavailable. Same part for many Benz transmissions and years.

Thanks Rocky, the car actually shifts pretty well when warmed up but I'd like make whatever adjustments I can to eliminate that slip between 2 and 3 when cold. I've already changed fluid and filter, and the next step would be a K1 spring kit if my adjustments fail.
Any trick to removal and installation of the modulator? Does it spin in, or is it pressed? Thanks
