Need pic of idle control cable to linkage
The idle adjustment knob on my 1981 300D stopped adjusting idle the other morning. Looked under the hood and as expected the end of the cable has popped free from the linkage.
I've clearly lost the part that holds/tightens the cable. Anybody have a good picture of how and where this cable is connected? Is it a round plastic part that I see at the end of the cable directly to the left of this one? Or is it the "bullet" shaped cable stop I see here: http://catalog.peachparts.com/ShopByVehicle.epc?q=&yearid=1981%40%401981&makeid=63%40%40MERCEDES+BENZ&modelid=6188%3AED|10000132%3AMBC|1503%40%40300D&keyword=stop&subcatid=P:242424@@Idle%20Cable%20Stop&mode=PA It's about 15 degrees here in Boston in the morning. Have come to love that idle knob like a brother. Appreciate the help. Sorry if this is answered in another thread. I've done some searching and can't get it straight. zc |

I can't get your link to point to anything meaningful.
Here are some pictures of my 1981 300D W123 EURO linkages that might help:- If your car looks like this I can take some more pictures if needed
