Not in my experience, although the factory says so. My '87 is not quieter at idle, sitting in or standing beside the car, or at speed. It should help the coefficient of drag, however.

Theyre kind of a pain if you need to do anything under there though, the bolt holes get gunked up pretty easily after being out and about in the elements for a while.

bolt holes

The belly pan's hex-head screws screw into replaceable rectangular "nuts" that fit into rectangular holes in the under carriage. I like the sound encapsulation panels because it seems to keep the engine compartment relatively clean.

Where do you get new replaceable rectangular nuts? I have one that needs to be replaced.

I got mine from the dealer. Let me look around to see if I have an extra one laying around. If I do, I'll let you know and mail it to you.
