Traded off the love of my life...
Yup, the beautiful '05 '05 CDI was traded in and now I have 2 new fuel filters, 1 new oil filter, and the interior duel cabin filters and the MB oil service dipstick that I no longer need.
Is it worth $200 shipped?

I like the Chrysler mini vans a lot. Especially the top shelf Town and Country. Much more of a utility vehicle than a 4-door ANYTHING. Especially comfortable if you travel cross country, in heavy traffic (you sit up high) or haul anything.......like people.

At 65 plus and raising two grandsons the Benz was running out of room for a 3'3" grandson that has to sit behind me, I'm 6'5" so my normal seating position is actually behind the door pillar. Add into the fact that it was getting hard for me to get in and out of the car, and the T&C is so easy to get into and I can have the front seat's back all the way and the 3 year old and 6 year old have all kinds of room and the van has duel intertainment systems and reclining rear seat, MB load leveling system among many other nice things like the German designed 6 speed select shift transmission.
Drop all the seats down and you have room for 4x8 sheet of plywood, stacked about 4' high. The van is the same van being built for the new 2011 VW van. And is available in Europe with a diesel engine. This van is bigger then the new 2011 Tahoe I parked beside at the oldest boys school yesterday. The lady driving it was green with envy is only way to say it, my van was longer, taller and had more inside room. Her only comment was I don't have 4x4 option like her. The only reason for 4x4 here is the 3 or 4 days a year we might have snow. We are as yet to have any snow this year.

Sorry, but I would be too embarrassed to drive a mini van.
In your situation, I would have bought a full size crew cab pick up truck. You can seat 5-6 fully grown adults in one of those comfortably and carry all the plywood you want.

But for that Chrysler minivan our customers made Wheels, instrument panels, doors , suspension. At each supplier they have an assembly line that makes parts to spec for each VIN, right color, radio option , suspension , switches, leather, etc down to every last switch and screw. They get built to spec and delivered in order to the chrysler plant in time to go on the car as its coming down the assembly line. Fun stuff. They used to make the minivans in St. Louis too but they closed that when Chrysler went into financial trouble. I asked about getting a diesel export but I didn't want to spend 25,000 on a vehicle and it would have been hard to do.

Well the crew cab Ford, Dodge and GM were looked at first, they road like crap, harder to get in and out of then my Benz (have arthritis in spine and two bad disc), average price was $43,000, and they have less room inside and then the 8 to 10 mpg was another dislike.

I was thinking there might be some ride, comfort issues and egress / ingress issues when comparing these vehicles. True minivans can offer more creature comforts, ride better and are easier to drive.
I was just suggesting a crew cab pick up as a more masculine choice.

I'd have gone for an ML diesel before I'd go to a minivan.....the ML is one of the most comfortable "trucks" I've been in IMHO.
