Vacuum Pod Rebuilding kit
Hello,
Following the excellent advice from here I removed my dash (w124 - '90 300D) and replaced the vacuum actuators that are used in the HVAC system. I had originally bought 6 rebuilding kits from Performance Analysis but after reading some comments I went ahead and used MB original parts. If anyone would like the kit at a very low price contact me. It has three (3) double diaphragm and three (3) single diaphragm in the kit. I bought these thinking they were appropriate but some on this board are critical of them. George Murphy, the owner of Performance Analysis, thinks they work well. I don't know and do not want to deceive anyone. I thought I'd ask before setting them aside and forgetting about them. TGD |

The single diaphragm kits work fine. It is the double diaphragm pods that have issues. The front portion, of the double diaphragm pods, has to be "modified" and this results in only partial throw range. With the double pods, (defrost, fresh/recirc) it is best to order replacement pods to get the original operation of full travel.
