Great car, just like the one I picked up several months ago. You're going to love it. Hope that your oil filter housing gasket isn't leaking as bad as mine.

Have you tried tightening it?

I used navy blue shoe polish on my 84 500SEC. There were doggie scratches and faded places on the seats and it helped a lot.

Oh yeah, that's the first thing I did. I tightened as much as I could without stripping the heads on those allen bolts. I was hoping to wait until summer to do this job, but it's so bad that I'm going to tackle it next week.

Did you cure the polish with anything to keep it from rubbing off on your pants? I would think that it would start to lift on really hot days.

I was wondering if this car was number 20 for me on MBs. Turns out it was number 23. I'm losing track, so I wrote it all out here for my memory.

Does this qualify for the cheap 300sd club, its about time to start one dont you think.Ive seen more 300sd models at the yard than 300d s.Im in love with my 85 300sd ,I dont know why I waited so long to buy one .I would say out of the diesel MBs for the 80s these are the smoothest rides in both looks and ride comfort.Time to look for some euro headlights now.

Hey Tyler nice pick up,

I got a nice crack free blue dash that came off an '88 420SEL. Had an airbag, so you would have to graft in the bottom support of the glove compartment door to make it work. PM me if interested.

Wooo I have number 3 on that list. You're welcome for starting all of this

I'm looking forward to seeing this thing in person, if we have time of course.

Well, it passed the overnight floor test with the exception of what appears to be a small leak on a power steering hose. The reservoir is about a centimeter off from full.

One pea size drop of oil otherwise. I noticed the oil cooler lines look to have been replaced as well.

Next week ill start searching threads on power seat troubleshooting. Hopefully they're not too much of a bear.

I like it! That'll make someone a nice car. Exact color combo / leather of my '83 300SD, btw.
