No sludgeing that im aware of and i have my rad caps off frequently but im begining to wonder why i even check... On a similar note no temp issues either and the cavalier gets "rode hard and put away wet" basically ever day for the last 5 years and the blazer has put in it's fair share of work (brought firebird from iowa to washington on a 2000 lb uhaul trailer with all my belongings in both so it was over 3/4 throttle for 2 days ) 4.3 vortec and 2.2 eco ftw

now that i think about it that zr2 has made me very happy, wheeled it during college, moved with it, drove it daily to work, moved to wa with it, wheeled it some more, now my girl drives my kid around in it... and besides idler arms (f napa), a cv, and a distributor it has been a pleasure.

I replaced it with just the regular green Peak premixed. Since I flush out coolant every year, I think it is ok to use the green stuff. I suspect (very strongly) that the brown coolant was the reason he sold it in the first place. He must have thought the head gasket was blown. there were oil lobules in the coolant in addition to the brown gritty (almost sand-like) stuff. I can easily see why this could be diagnosed as a cracked head or blown head gasket.
