What turbo are you rebuilding? the T3?

there are a few good tutorials on the web for rebuilding your turbo. I did mine just fallowing the directions I read here, and fallowing a tutorial I found on google.

When I ordered the turbo rebuild kit (ebay kit) they did not have a the correct seal for the compressor housing. I could not find one anywhere. so I measured the compressor and ordered a seal form McMaster-Carr they only sold them in a 25 pack... Let me know if you need one

Those chinese turbos are nothing but bad news from what I have heard. Honestly I wouldn't mind putting something like that on if it weren't completely essential to the engine running (say like GP wires, battery or someting) - meaning if it grenades, the engine is completely shot in most cases. Good used turbos are pretty easily found in the parts section, and a rebuild usually isn't too difficult either.

I've also heard people whove had not problems with the Chinese stuff for 10's of km.

On the flipside good used t3's are a dime a dozen.

yes its a t3 ,leaking a lot of oil,but i think ill just remove cartridge and rebuild it ,as most likely seals are the issue, not wear.

For $100 its better just to buy a good used turbo, they aren't hard to find.

Try the PNP yards, $60.00, you have to pull it.

Would you put a Chinese air or oil filter on your car?
Best give them a few years to work out how to do castings properly. The shaft seals and bearings may take a little longer.
Just look at the job they do on making shafts. They may be cheap but you only get what you pay for !!!
I think our mod has done well to develop a market for rebooted OEM shafts as a result of the C##P coming from China.
Those turbos are probably going to be 395 head aches !!
