Cold weather working tip

Wait till spring! Or at least till it gets above 40F. Watch working around your vacuum lines. Had a few snap like twigs just moving them aside. Heat them a little with a heat gun if your going to bend them a little. I hate cold!

Wrenching in the cold is certainly no fun. A piece of cardboard or a sheet of plywood will save your backside from the cold contcrete sucking all your body warmth away. A warm engine will help keep you warm too!

I have old used carpet I use to lay on. one piece cut the width of the distance between the tires that covers from front to rear under the car. then have a piece on either side to get on to crawl under the car. this way Iam never on the cold concrete.

The thicker and plushier the better.

Those old plastic fuel lines that use to be clear and plyable, that are now
dark brown and brittle, will snap too.
I replaced one from the top of the fuel filter to IP, dealer item only. was amazed at what they are actually suppose to look like. OH! this must be the clear line everyone talks about, when seeing bubbles in the fuel.

I use an old comforter that came off my kids bed. It works. I am definitely saving for a 2 post lift. Tired of laying on the ground!

I have a 36x36 converted old barn. Just too much other stuff. Have the Handy motorcycle lift, now a 2 post lift for the cars and I'm done!

Keep a non pleated windshield shade $0.99 from a dollar store in the trunk. Rolls up small and perfect to crawl under the car with- keeps you dry, clean, warm.

Wear thin synthetic glove liners under 2 pairs of nitrile gloves= warm clean hands with good dexterity. I keep 2 pairs of glove liners with me and change to a fresh dry pair when it gets clammy under the nitrile and let the first pair dry.
