See there is hope please cause i have been wasting too much time on this. I did a total overhaul of the interior and tranny. All of that is done but while i was doing that i opened this hornets nest and now all the wires are out cause i cant get the remote start to work. so thats whats holding me back to get everything put up to where it belongs.
I know for a fact that the remote start does support the glow plug timing and i have that set up all thats holding me back is this vacuum thing that all the gentleman above me brought to my attention so please help me so i can be on with it

you could always do what others have done when putting a diesel in a gasser, and install a electrically actuated vacuum switch. key on, vacuum vents, key off, vacuum applies. then attach it to the remote.

When I checked, the local auto alarm place told me they had all the pieces to install a remote start in my diesel; basically just a solenoid to control the vacuum shutoff and a timer for the glow plugs; no need to reinvent this wheel, it's all been done before.

All done thank you for all the input and guidance i had a couple of those vacuum switchover valves from a 93 300E i raided a while back at the junk yard. So my Astra 4000RS Remote Start/Alarm/Key less entry is all in with all it bells and whistles on my 1991 300 D 2.5 Turbo.WVO The best part about it is that my home automation software and computers can turn the car on for me every morning at 8:40am so at 9 is all good to go and i dont run the risk of breaking seals and plastic in the transmission for being late and driving the car cold as soon as you turn it on.
thank you all
Denis
