Electrical Bugabos

When the auto or high button setting is depressed on on my 95 E300D, I get a buzzing sound in the rear passenger door when the window switch is operated. My indy tell me I need a new window regulator. I am also getting a buzzing sound near the trunk as well. Do I have relay issues? Is this the start of wire harness problems? I hate Chicago winters.

Thanks for any help.

George

Sounds like something is not getting enough current, possibly due to a corroded fuse or fuse contacts. When the climate control blower switch puts the blower in the higher speeds, so much current is drawn that the voltage drops. Anything else on that circuit (if any) would then malfunction.

More information, please. When the (climate control?) Auto or High buttons are NOT pressed, does the (left or right?) rear window operate normally? If the window does operate normally under any circumstances (a) does it work with both front and rear switches? and (b) you don't need a new regulator.

The buzzing noise "near the trunk" -- can you hear it inside the passenger compartment, in the trunk, or both, and is it continuous?

Jeremy

Sounds like the flaps in the air vents (trunk) are buzzing, or something else from the airflow. Easy test: Open the driver's window an inch and try it, if no buzz then it's just airflow.

Buzzing in rear door sounds when climate control button is on high or auto setting. When i depress the rear passenger window (drivers side or rear door switch) the noise changes to a lower hum. Window goes up and down normally.

Buzzing comes from outside with trunk closed (only when climate control is on high setting).

Thanks guys.
