617 turbo boost boost
 

CAn anyone direct me to turbo boost + ALDA adjustment instructions for 617.952 engines ? Please no wild guesses, anything not informed by first hand experience and communication ability.

... awfully direct for someone who is asking very simple questions that could be found with a search of the performance section. you adjust alda by removing it and placing shims under it, you adjust manifold pressure by creating a leak inbetween the waste gate and where you are getting manifold pressure from. either by using a tee with piece of hose on it with varying size hoses till you get the pressure you want or you by a controller that does it fo you.

I'm looking for something more clear complete.

I found all the info you are asking for with my magical powers of googlefoo.

Seriously the alda is turned ccw in 1/4 turn increments. The waste gate on your turbo I haven't had timne to do mine yet. Have you done a valve adj. yet? I just did mine (om617) & that alone made one hell of a difference...

There are DIY on this a plenty. Google or searching here will show that. Adjusting WG depends heavily on the type of turbo, some are easier than others. Dont fiddle with anything until you have adjusted your linkage, adjusted valves, timed your pump, poptested your injectors and replaced your fuel filters. If you have the Garrett turbo I highly recommend just getting a manual boost controller. Adjusting that WG is a PITA.

Well, maybe if you need something clearer than that you probably should not be adjusting it.

That is for the garrett turbo. Its really easier to spend the 9$ and put a MBC inline the wg hose. The kkk has external adjustments. Adjusting the alda should be the ABSOLUTE LAST THING you do.

I can think of things much worse than a alda adjustment ;)

I am not saying it shouldnt be done, but there are plenty of other gains that are covered by regular maintenance. Shortcutting to the end means that you are not doing the proper maintenance.

I think your first mistake here was not mentioning to what extent you searched the subject and perhaps share example of what you found that doesnt make sense.



Second mistake is to rudely make demands on the community.

Well obviously your maintanence should be covered before you look into any kind of adjustment to well.. anything unless it is part of the formentioned maintenence.

ALDA adjust is a normal maintenance item. It loses enrichment capabilities over time, needs to be adjusted per the FSM.

Then you should be looking at your pump not your ALDA.

What section? I have never seen that anywhere.
