...'87 300D Ignitnition S/W getting Hot???...
...As I was having AC/Heat problems,...I replaced the ignition s/w after testing all the other elec. items on that circuit... ...The AC worked for a day,...then back to the same old issue,...blowing #7 fuse... ...Now I have noticed that the new from the dealer s/w is quit hot to the touch,...as is the key when I remove it... ...Is the ig. s/w getting hot normal???...or is it possible that the mechanic could have,...not gotten the plug attached properly at the back of the s/w???...

That sounds scary to me, unless he left an air duct loose, and the heater is heating the back of the dash.
If this is not the case, I'd have the car towed back to him. I had a problem with blowing fuses because the fan bearings were dry and dragging. That is easy to check with an ammeter.

Hot key = very large current load which = potential large problem.
