87 300td wagon for sale

Moderator- feel free to move this but give it a few hours

there is a really nice one for sale in my town. I will be happy to look at it for anyone here. I am not related to the seller.

I would buy this for myself but I just bought 2 Benz's in the past 3 months. My wife would divorce me (seriously).

Here is the link

wow, that's a nice wagon.
every option, but the cargo net... red on red. and a craigslist ad with good pictures! very nice.
I'm going to forward this to a buddy of mine that is looking for a good wagon.

I actually emailed the seller pleading with him not to sell it to just anyone. I want it to go to someone in this forum.

I even had this harebrained idea to offer for me to buy an 'option' on this car. I was going to give him $300 to NOT sell it to anyone until I am ready for a new one in a year or two (i.e. when the wife lets me).

Just to let you know, these go pretty quick around here (or anywhere). Let me know if you need my help. This is literally minutes from my house.

my buddy does indeed think the wagon is what he wants. he is also a forum member on here, if that helps. I've called the seller, but he did not answer. his photobucket account shows several other vehicles, and other things it looks like he is selling.
and he's in real estate.
oh, the wagon DOES have the cargo net... wow.
I wish I was still looking for a wagon. it's nicer than both of mine.
heated seats... wow.

benhogan 02-08-2011 09:32 AM

OK. There's a few forum members interested and inquiring about this car.

In the spirit of fairness, I will not be emailing the seller on anyone's behalf. Email him yourself and I will be more than happy to inspect it for you if you and the seller come to an agreement.

No need to make enemies in this forum and ruin my good Mercedes Karma.

vstech 02-08-2011 09:45 AM

and have no fear of moderator intervention either. I personally do not want the car. I have a forum member that had me inspect a wagon for him, that is looking for a wagon.
this fits his needs very well, but I'm not going to be upset if other members also looking for this wagon I likely was first to call the guy, so he'll likely call me back first.

It's awful hard to fault that car, a few mnor blemishes, would be nice to have leather, ... but wow what a nice looking car and apparently an un-molested survivor. Even a pet-net/cargo cover and still has the roof crossbars.

It's all in the timing.

I just heard from the seller. Someone from IOWA has been contacting him. Is that person on this forum? just wondering

vstech 02-08-2011 12:30 PM

Iowa eh? I'm sure they are looking HARD for a rust free anything for sale!

I'll let you guys know if he contacts me.

if enough interest is in the car, the price may go up! I am sure this wagon is worth more than it's listed for if there are no "gotcha's" in there!

Wow great car. Where was it last month. I would have grabbed it

Skid Row Joe 02-08-2011 01:05 PM

I think the seller knows what he's got, and priced it to sell to the right person. In the condition (blemishes) the car is in, I would pass on it for that kind of money, were I intending to keep it. I think marketing it on ebay with an absence of the gruesome underside pictures of the car - would garner perhaps 20% or more than he's asking. It might make a good car to flip if you're in it's vicinity, based on that. Especially if you could get it for less than $4K. It is pretty, though.

Ha !

That is exactly like my W124 TD. ( I have a palamino interior and call mine burgundy rather than red.)

Very nice car. I hope someone here buys this one.
