With the corner lights on, fog lights won't turn on like my 300E and 300D when I pull the knob. If I turn the headlights on then fog lights will come on only if it's at low beam position. At high beam position they will be off again.

can someone check theirs and give me some feedback?

Now I'm wondering if I can modify that switch to make it works like the 91 300D. May be a different switch? I remember my old 380 SEL(Euro) used to work like that. Will that drawing too much current? I think they are using separate fuses. If that's the case It'll be fine...right?

The headlight switch of an 86-91 W126 (~$40 from FastLane) should drop right in. I'm not sure about the electrical connector though. Maybe someone knows if they're the same. You'll also get left/right park and rear fog if not working.
