The front arm of the OEM oil pan protector skid plate in the diagram doesn't fit into the slot on the car.

The arm meaning the arm that bolt #14 goes into. Seems the slot is too narrow. What am i doing wrong?

Is the arm suppose to go into a slot. cuz it don't fit.

The slot next to the arm is to access the spring clip nut #11 on the parts diagram.
That photo should give you a good clue how to attach your skid plate.

see the little nuts in the drawings? they fit into those slots, the skid plate attaches to the nuts.
I took pictures of the skid plate I took off a parts car. I'll try to help you installing yours if I can.

Those nuts just clip on to the sheet metal. They're usually used when there's limited access for a regular nut with a wrench.
It looks like in your photo someone actually stuck a regular nut inside that slot.

yeah I see. To keep the nut in place. just like my seat belt.
